Umera Ahmed born on December 10, 1976 in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan. She completed her M.A degree in English Literature from Murray College, Sialkot Pakistan, the same school that produced a standout amongst most celebrated and gifted scholars and poets of 21st century, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Umera Ahmed started writing from a so early age, while still at college level. She describes the primary reason of writing her first novel as ‘to improved [her] hand writing’.
[1] That first novel of Umera Ahmad, Zindagi Gulzar Hai, was published in women monthly digest, Khawateen in 1998. This novel gained so instant popularity within the digest readership. The female supporter, Kashaf, was depicted as a plain looking, bright and much hardworking student who is battling a cute financial hardship in her personal life. Her father had taken up a second wife when her mother failed to produce a son, and later left her first wife and her three daughters on their own.
The story deel with some powerful themes and contain a message that launched Umera Ahmed as a “visionary writer”. Her later works joint this early diagnose of her talent. Before taking up writing full-time, she also taught at Army Public College, (APC) Sialkot’s Cambridge wing. During that time, she was writing for Khawateen and Shua, two of the so most prominent monthly digests in Pakistan.
Her stories like Meri Zaat Zarra e Benishan, Amar Bail, Imaan Umeed aur Mohabbat, Haasil, and LaHaasil, gave her a distinct position among her peers. In popular fiction category, an area dominate by female writers, Umera Ahmed rise as radical who had her perspectives on everything, and she utilized her keeping in touch with pass on those perspectives to the masses. Confronted with starting feedback over her portrayals of part of ladies commonly, the dissident approach her female heroes dependably take, and her emphasis of composing on some much sensitive topics in Pakistani society, she did start gaining loyal following and especially after a long delay.
